Sign Field Mapping

When requesting e-signature using files with existing form fields that cannot be renamed (or has a limited naming scheme), you can use this mapping tool to define what those form names should become when the signature request is created.

The reason for doing this is because when the form field name is the same as an index field, the form value from the final signed file will populate the index field when the final file is imported back to Docufree.

In addition to field names, you can also specify whether it should be required and which recipient should it be assigned to initially.

Bulk Setup

It may be more efficient to bulk import an Excel-based settings file rather than defining each one by one. You can download a template file for what columns the settings file should contain by clicking the Download current list button in the toolbar, or refer to the following list:

• Source field - name of the field in the file
• Target field - new name of the field when requesting signature
• Signer index - initially assigned recipient id (0-based) when requesting signature
• Required - whether the field will be required. Value is "yes" or "no" (no quotes).
